Un especialista dejó que una enorme serpiente se enrollara alrededor de su cuerpo y cuello mientras ambos nadaban juntos bajo el agua en una extraña acrobacia.
Charles Wieand y la anaconda de 12 pies y 100 libras se deslizaban juntos en una piscina en California.
Sin llevar nada más que un par de pantalones cargo, la serpiente se deslizó y se retorció sobre el cuerpo de Charles, y en un momento el reptil pareció lamerle los dedos.
En total, el comediante, conocido por sus acrobacias al aire libre, chapoteó y se zambulló con la anaconda gigante durante media hora.

“La forma en que se movía era impresionante, estaba muy cómodo en el agua.
“No estaba demasiado preocupado porque conozco al dueño de la serpiente y estaba al tanto de su personalidad, pero nunca se sabe qué puede pasar.
“Al final, fue realmente relajante verlo nadar sobre mí y a mi alrededor, casi meditativo.
“Incluso logré darle un abrazo rápido”.

Charles, quien se ha relajado en una colchoneta rodeado de caimanes y ha practicado la apicultura, no es ajeno a las acrobacias extremas, que publica en su canal de YouTube, Outdoor Adventures with Charles.
A pesar de esa experiencia, darse un chapuzón con una serpiente mucho más adecuada para estar bajo el agua que él presentó un conjunto de circunstancias únicas.
Charles dijo: “Si algo sale mal debajo de la superficie, te ahogas.
“Siempre que sepas cómo interactuar con ellos, pueden ser bastante amigables.

“Después de haber recibido entrenamiento de apnea, puedo contener la respiración durante más de tres minutos; sin embargo, mantuve mi tiempo bajo el agua más corto solo por seguridad y para darle suficientes descansos entre inmersiones.
“Las anacondas pueden permanecer bajo el agua durante 10 minutos, así que ese es realmente su reino y quería asegurarme de poder salir del agua si algo salía mal”.
A pesar de haber planeado la maniobra durante unos meses, Charles quería hacerlo como homenaje a su entrenador de apnea Mike Kellenbarger.

Charles dijo: “Lamentablemente, Mike falleció trágicamente en un accidente automovilístico en octubre.
“Había hablado con él sobre lo que iba a hacer y me llamó loca, pero le encantó la idea.
“Me hubiera gustado poder estar aquí para verlo.
“Él fue realmente mi mentor en apnea, así que ni siquiera habría pensado en intentar esto sin él”.
