A frog dared to climb onto the giant python’s neck, but contrary to everyone’s fears, the tree python remained gentle and resigned.
Strange friendship between a frog and a giant python
This stunning image of a giant python-necked climbing frog was taken at a zoo in Jakarta, Indonesia, by wildlife photographer Fahmi BHS, 39.
In the footage, the tree frog can be seen crawling comfortably, “putting its head on the neck” of the tree python, treating the green tree frog as an automatic elevator for a ride, and the animal is not angry at all.
Perhaps because they grew up together, the tree python didn’t have the heart to swallow its little amphibian friend of the same color, but the little frog didn’t have a defensive attitude toward the python killer either.
Photographer Fahmi was extremely scared and worried about the fate of the beautiful frog when he dared to come closer and put his hand around the python’s neck to climb up.
However, contrary to his fear, the two animals seemed to be all too familiar with this. Fahmi immediately grabbed the camera and captured the extremely interesting scene.
Strange friendships between animals of different species are not uncommon in the animal kingdom, but friendships between cold-blooded prey and enemies like pythons and tree frogs are very rare.
It is known that because they grew up together in captivity, this odd couple feels completely comfortable in each other’s surroundings, unconsciously becoming a pair of friends.
