A carpet python “broke into” human territory in Brisbane (Australia) and slithered across the roof in front of the terrified eyes of the homeowner.
This “big guy” weighed 7.7 kg and had nearly 100 teeth growing in its mouth. After capturing the python with a hair dryer and a piece of plastic, snake catcher Steve Brown shared that it took him more than an hour to get this monster out of the net. Brown released the python in a bushland, far from the streets and residential areas.
“I used a long piece of plastic to poke the python, then turned on the hair dryer to heat up the area and make it run away,” he said. “Even though it’s not venomous, a bite from a python this big would still be harmful. They have up to 100 teeth.”
The reptiles will start looking for warmer places to shelter during the “cool” season, so homeowners should keep their doors and windows closed to avoid “uninvited guests.” According to Brown, the python wriggled between the gaps under the floor to move from one place to another, eventually “settling down” on the roof of the other house. “The python was about 3 meters long and weighed 8 kg,” Brown said.
Previously, a couple in Brisbane were also shocked to discover that the “culprit” that clogged the water pipe in their bathroom was a python.
