As a parent, my heart shattered and tore,
When my limbless child came through the door,
Forsaken by God, or so it seemed,
In my arms, they lay, like a dream.

Devastation gripped me, a heavy weight,
A test of faith, a cruel twist of fate,
But in my anguish, in my despair,
I vowed to love them, to show I care.

Their tiny form, so fragile and pure,
No limbs to play, to run, to endure,
I prayed each day for their joy and peace,
For suffering to fade, for pain to cease.

God’s plan, a mystery beyond my ken,
I clung to hope, to love, to yen,
For in their eyes, a light did shine,
A spirit strong, a heart divine.

I cradled them close, despite the pain,
Their smile a balm, a gentle rain,
In their silence, I found a voice,
In their stillness, I made a choice.

To cherish each moment, each precious breath,
To guide them through life, through joy and death,
For in their presence, I saw God’s grace,
A lesson in love, in a different space.

So I prayed each day for strength to cope,
For faith to sustain, for love to elope,
With my limbless child, a gift so rare,
In their eyes, I found a prayer.

Though devastated by God’s unknown plan,
I held them close, my child, my clan,
For in their weakness, I found my might,
In their darkness, I found my light.
