This giant python found in Malaysia measures 7.92 m long, longer than the longest python in the world recorded in the Guinness Book of Records.
Recently, people in Malaysia captured a giant python , up to 7.92 m long and will most likely set a new record for the largest python ever captured. According to the Guinness Book of Records, the largest python ever captured was 7.62 meters long and currently lives in Missouri, United States.
Specifically, construction workers found this giant python monster in Paya Terubong, a district in the tourist paradise of Penang, Malaysia.
After the discovery, these workers immediately called the fire department for help. Upon receiving the news, firefighters and authorities arrived at the scene and it took 30 minutes to control the python.
According to Herme Herisyam, an employee of the Malaysian Civil Defence Agency, the python was about 8 meters long and weighed about 250 kg.
If confirmed, this will be the largest python in the world, usurping the Medusa python, the python that holds the Guinness World Record with a length of 7.62 m and a weight of 160 kg.
Like Medusa, the Malaysian giant python also belongs to the reticulated python species, also known as reticulated python, king python, scientific name Python reticulatus, a type of large-sized python, belonging to the Pythonidae family and the genus of the same name Python, living in the Southeast Asia region.
